Tomorrow @MLB and @milb will continue negotiations over the new PBA and the fate of 42 teams. MLB wants to contract these teams (kill these small businesses) and ultimately devalue existing franchises. Why? 1) exercise more control over MiLB 2) get access to MiLB customer info,
3) drive down the value of minor league teams, making it easier for MLB clubs to later buy these affiliates on the cheap 4) save a few million a season per team at the cost of keeping baseball in communities.

The plan to eliminate the Minors was constructed by
former Houston GM Jeff Lunhow. Lunhow comes from the world of finance and hedge fund managers, and while he was successful in that field, the goal of people in these positions is not to build a brand that will continue on for generations, but to invest $ into companies and
leave once they show signs of decline. The decision to reduce the minors is short-sighted, it reflects the attempt to save relatively small sums for these teams for the next few years w/ NO clear sign of long-term strategizing or planning to retain fans or grow interest in our
beloved game of #baseball. I am positive that tomorrow MLB will lean hard on MiLB and threaten to dissolve the bonds that has kept this partnership b/w the Majors and the Minors for over a century, and why? for an organization that made over $10b last year to save
a few bucks, find new ways to exploit customer data from minor league clubs. In 5 years from now I suspect we will see more franchises owned by MLB teams, less of a focus on providing the type of family-friendly affordable entertainment we have come to expect from Minor League
Baseball. @MLB makes for a horrible steward of the American National Pastime and this needs to be clear to baseball fans of all types and all across the world.
