2. I was talking to one of my 2 rl besties yesterday. She told me how her OH, a business owner, had been thinking of buying bigger office premises. He actually bid on one just before lockdown, but didn't get it. He's now pleased, as he thinks in future he'd like more ppl to wfh.
3. Obviously, not everyone can work from home. But the lockdown has shown that very many can. We could drastically reduce the amount of cars on the road and as result pollution levels and the number of accidents. Ppl would spend less time commuting and sitting in traffic jams.
4. The increase in mental health issues since the lockdown is due to different factors. Anxiety about the threat of the virus and lack of social contact with friends and family being 2 of them. Wfh would be far pleasanter if ppl could move freely again in their free time.
5. Another thing that's happened because of the lockdown's been an increased sense of community and helping each other. I suspect some ppl have got to know their neighbours better since being confined to their homes. We should do our best to maintain that connection & community.
6. There are local businesses that get a little overlooked when ppl are thanking frontline workers. Time and again I've heard of ppl able to buy things at their local shop that they can't get in the supermarket. Often these local shops are delivering to the vulnerable.
7. When this is over, I hope we continue to use these small local businesses. They've been a lifeline to so many in the last few weeks. I hope that ppl don't automatically fall back into the same routine of driving to a supermarket several times a week.
8. We've had to live very differently, but I see potential for some of the differences to be beneficial to us environmentally, socially and mentally.
Positive change would possibly be a way of honouring those who've died from #COVID19 and all frontline workers.
