Hi guys,

I’ve come to beg for your support, not for me but for the health workers around you.

While these people are dedicated to the job, most hospitals just can’t afford PPEs per shift change per individual

And while Covid_19 is serious, it’s not the only existing ailment
Hospitals can’t come out to say they’ve shut down but most seem to be turning away patients and without adequate PPE, who can blame them?

What’s worse is that PPEs are getting expensive. For instance, a packet of masks that was previously sold for 3,500 is now over 25,000.
I reached out to @NovoHealthHMO who supported me with the #1sicknessAwayFromPoverty drive and asked what was going on and it appears that hospitals are plain scared. Can’t raise fees and don’t have enough funds to cover PPEs.

But I feel we can’t all sit and watch
Now the big problem is 80% of Nigerians visit private facilities and the Covid symptoms are similar to a lot of other ailments everyday people battle with

So we need hospitals open to at least help with 1st line response and I’m told the NCDC has been awesome with trainings
Now, @NovoHealthHMO is doing a few this to assist. They’ve Set up a covid support center for people with similar symptoms to call in

And a website for doctors to volunteer. These doctors will be assigned to the patients that call in

This is great but we need more help
How you can help:

If you can, please buy and give PPEs to facilities around you.

I would suggest reaching out to @NovoHealthHMO for correct specifications and they can also assist such hospitals with proper training by the NCDC
The website I mentioned that provided 1st line counseling and response is

Please also, if you’re a doctor and can volunteer your time, the site and the community needs you
