Fun! Let’s see how these @realdonaldtrump-approved celebrity chefs treat workers.

First up: the “honored” @Chef_Keller, who was sued for pregnancy discrimination in 2019 & (in 2015) ordered by a judge to pay $500k to employees from whom he’d stolen tips. https://www.grubstreet.com/2015/07/per-se-service-fee-agreement.html https://twitter.com/chef_keller/status/1250553303248691201
Then there’s @DanielBoulud. This guy owns a bunch of restaurants catering to one percenters. In 2015, he had to pay $1.4M to more than 1,000 employees from whom he’d withheld wages. He settled a similar lawsuit with a different group of employees in 2014. https://nypost.com/2015/07/27/workers-to-receive-measly-settlement-from-celebrity-chef/
Next up, @WolfgangPuck. In 2012 Puck had to repay $500k to employees he hadn’t compensated for working overtime, an illegal but common practice I myself experienced working for @BravoTopChef S1 winner @HaroldDieterle & his business partner @AliciaNosenzo.

Finally, @jeangeorges, who just last month bragged about assaulting an employee.

The restaurant industry is rotten—run by greedy, violent megalomaniacs who thrive by exploiting labor.

If you care about workers, boycott the unethical ppl in this thread.
