Facts:
1. Mayor Isko placed lockdown on some Barangays because they were caught doing "boxing" and such during ECQ.
2. Mayor Sara Duterte, similarly, put Davao on ECQ because several people tested positive on COVID 19 after having "cock fighting."

On Vice Ganda's tik tok
3. Barangay officials of Caloocan were caught doing "cock fighting" in North Cemetery during ECQ.

I can't enumarate all. My point is, yes, the Social Amelioration and relief goods giving systems are not perfect. There is still lack of concrete plans of the gov't to combat ++
the pandemic. So while it is true that the less fortunate sectors are the ones suffering from ECQ, and gov't's response still lack pragmatic solutions, it is also true that there are Pinoys who deliberately ignore the danger of spreading COVID-19.

A lot already pointed out ++
that perhaps Vice Ganda should not have used the word "Pinoy" in the tik-tok vid, but that it shouldn't be enough reason to bash him. Also that he consistently do charitable works as well.

But are we really gonna debate on semantics? Instead of the context of the vid? ++
First time I saw it, I got the meaning right away. He did not say "LAHAT NG PINOY", he just said the word "Pinoy" followed by "makukulit." I felt they were already indicative that he meant "the ones who deliberately disobey ECQ rules."

++
It might not be the same for others, but for me, the message was clear. I just hope we could focus on this message as opposed to debating on semantics because what he said is very relevant to what's currently happening.

Perhaps it wasn't phrased with enough sensivity. ++
But as a fan, my "hugot" really is that I feel like this is only an issue because HE IS Vice Ganda. That people are quick to blame him, point faults at him, tell him that he's not checking his privelege right (as though it's a crime to be affluent), ++
which everyone repeatedly does ever since he became renowned. A tiny mishap and they crucify him. Whatever good he does gets cancelled the moment people deem he did something wrong.

As though it's a norm to blame Vice Ganda about everything.
++
Perhaps people are just bored. Perhaps it's just easier to blame someone else, have a scapegoat, than face uncertainties brought by the pandemic.

Whatever the reason, this is not fair to Vice Ganda and to anyone who genuinely give back to society.

++
Said too much already but my main point is before we become reactive or blame or criticize or blatantly bash people, let's try to see the entire picture.

Is there merit, at least, to what he said? Is there some truth to it?

As opposed to nitpicking on a few choice of words.
