Once upon a time, like any idyllic, wide-eyed little child, I had lofty dreams of changing the world. I later came to realise that one way to do this is by choosing a relevant profession. I decided I wanted to become a Dr. Love... THREAD.
But who are African parents?😂 They advised me and I ended up choosing a course not at all related to the kind of qualifications needed for doctoring people's hearts. But I have made peace with it for now. Consider it a long-cut to the ultimate destination.
All the same, I have not stopped preparing for my future role. Therefore, today I shall experiment with your hearts, if you allow me. I have no qualifications apart from a diploma from the University of Anybooks, thus it is unethical to practice.
It is therefore my great pleasure to treat the subject of... drumroll... BREAKUPS!
Now for another disclaimer: In addition to lacking the requisite papers I also lack the relevant experience so if you must consume my prescriptions, please do so at your own peril.
I don't need to describe the havoc breakups wreak. Between processing your loss and nursing hurt, your energy is so much consumed. Enter the perfect antidote: music.
I'm sure my more experienced counterparts have advised you to have a breakup playlist on the ready, but what if the pain is too much to compile one?
Don't worry. I got you.
I'm going to guide you, track by track, through a phenomenal album called "The Heat" by @NEEDTOBREATHE
This album is a perfect juxtaposition of all the phases goes through in and out of love, and to make it more interesting, I will show you how every track relates to your situation.
Having patiently read this thread to this point, kindly indulge me your audience a little longer.
1. RESTLESS
It has just happened. You are probably in denial, torn between oft-longed for relief and the pain of the end of a perfect relationship. The oscillation of the lyrics between tough and tender, coupled by heady rock beats, further accentuate your confusion.
2. AGAIN
You have calmed down and can rationally see all the reasons why you actually broke up with Significant Other in the first place. You are telling him/her why you can never fall in love with them again, but in reality you are convincing yourself not to return.
You can follow @EstherAruka.
