At what point do “can do” societies became “can’t do” societies and what do we do about it?

In a time of crisis, when the response of those with authority is “can’t do”, it is time for change.

Where are the leaders? 1/6
Political leaders: Afraid to do the right thing because they might be embarrassed by leading where others won’t follow. Leading reactively when things are bad is not enough. Some political leaders acted and their countries suffered far less. 2/6
Economic leaders: Worried about their losses instead of making sure that there are enough resources to do what is needed to save people and society the harm that was caused. It isn’t what should be done. It isn’t that much. It can be done. 3/6
Military leaders: Where were they in taking a lead to do the big things that need to be done? Army Corps making hospitals in NY is good but not near enough. Leading means taking risks and finding ways to make things happen. 4/6
Religious leaders: Where are they setting values on the public stage? Telling people to take responsibility for poor, elderly, anyone who needs help. Where are communities taking care of their own and others? Where are they pointing to failures and making calls to action? 5/6
Each of these can still happen: Political leaders can do what should be done. Economic leaders can assure the resources to do them. Military leaders can plan and organize things to happen. Religious leaders can still point the way to helping everyone. Much can still be done. 6/6
