Cesc Fabregas - Chelsea Career - A Thread 💙🏆
June 12th 2014, Chelsea agreed a deal with Barcelona worth €33 million for the transfer of midfield maestro, Cesc Fabregas.
On his departure of the Spanish club, "I asked Barcelona to find a way for me to leave the club. The president tried to stop the sale, but I already had my mind made up." He went on to say, "If I didn't think that I'd be happy at Chelsea, I would've never made this decision 💙
Fabregas made his competitive debut for Chelsea against Burnley, which saw the blues win 3-1. Fabregas helped assisting 2 goals.

The first game of his Chelsea career is arguably one of his most famous. After producing a pin point, one touch pass, perfectly to Andre Schurrle.
Fabregas was nominated for the Premier League Player Of The Month in August 2014.

The 13th September saw Fabregas make history. After providing two assists against Swansea, Cesc became the first ever player in the PL to assist in six successive games.
Cesc was fire. Recording his first goal for Chelsea in a 1-1 draw against German side Schalke 04, in the Champions League.

On the 18th October, he scored one of the best "team goals" in the PL that season. Nicely finishing against Palace after a 19-pass move.
In the same game, he completed 123 passes.

Fast forward to 12th April 2015, Fabregas scored one of Chelsea's most important goals of the season. In a frustrating game away to QPR, the masked wizard scored the winning and only goal in the 88th minute.
On the 3rd May, a day before his 28th birthday, Cesc and Chelsea won the Premier League title. Winning at home against Crystal Palace. This was his ninth attempt.

The 2015-16 season was a difficult one for the club.

Cesc, alongside Oscar & Costa, faced a difficult time we some Chelsea fans. After the dismissal of Mourinho, the three players were turned on, thinking they were the reason for the sacking.
Like the professional he is, he kept on going and won back over the fans (who shouldn't have turned in the first place).

He ended the 2015/16 season with making 49 appearances. He scored 6 and assisted 9.

Chelsea finished 10th place.
The 2016/17 season started off slow for Cesc. The new appointment of Conte saw a change in the clubs philosophy of play. Cesc started the opener against West Ham on the bench.

Just like he did against Watford. Until, he was brought on in the 2nd half and assisted Costa's winner.
At the start of the season, there were rumours that the Spaniard would be leaving Chelsea due to his lack of game time. 6 months had passed and the situation changed dramatically.
Speaking to Sky Sports and if he would be at Chelsea the following season, Cesc said, " 100 per cent. I am not thinking about anything else than challenging myself here. The situation from six months ago to now has changed massively.
Cesc was out for a month injured and made his return against Manchester City. At half-time, Chelsea were down 1-0 due to a Cahill own goal.

In the second half, FĂ bregas picked out Costa with a long ball into the box, seeing Costa equalise. Chelsea ended up winning 3-1.
On 31 December 2016, Fàbregas recorded his 100th Premier League assist in his 293rd appearance in Chelsea's 4–2 home victory over Stoke City; he became the fastest player in Premier League history to reach this landmark, taking 74 fewer appearances than Ryan Giggs.
For a player who didn't appear much at the start of the season, he certainly didn't let that hold him back.

Fàbregas marked his 300th Premier League appearances with a goal and an assist as Chelsea defeated Swansea City 3–1.
In the same match, he also reached 102 assists in the Premier League, equalling Frank Lampard as the league's second-highest provider of all time.

The 2017/18 season started off poorly for both Chelsea & Cesc. In their opener against Burnely, Cesc was sent off in the 81st minute for getting a second yellow card. Chelsea ended up losing the game 3-2, with a Morata debut goal closing the deficit.
Chelsea's success that season was in the FA Cup. In the 6 games leading to the final, Cesc made 4 appearances, whilst assisting against Hull City in a 4-0 win.

19th May 2018, Chelsea faced Manchester United in the FA Cup Final. Fabregas played the full 90 minutes.
That was his second FA Cup trophy. First with Chelsea.

The season of 2018/19 was to be Cesc's last at Chelsea. The sacking of Antonio Conte saw the appointment of Sarri. Sarri was a package deal and also saw the arrival of Jorginho.

Due to his arrival, this saw Cesc's playing time drastically decline....
Fabregas played his last game for the blues against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. With 5 minutes to go, Cesc was taken off, receiving a standing ovation from more than 40,000 gathered at the stadium as he made a tearful farewell to the Blues faithful.
