Watched the Witcher on Netflix and went to see the reviews on imdb and they were all like "Henry Cavill is EPIC" but also "forced diversity is bad keep all your exotic people out of this white people only" like bro... The former is fine but the latter is straight racism
I think the show was good but tbh I feel like I don& #39;t comprehend it on an analytical level very well... :((( I hate feeling like this why do I not form an opinion on most media I consume without foreign opinions to help me hnghhh
I wish they had cast some more Asian people.. it felt like I saw none of them really. Apparently the actress who plays Yennefer is mixed and Desi but I didn& #39;t know until I looked up the cast, but perhaps that& #39;s my own ignorance. It seems a lot of people, including Desi people
Felt the same though, and were surprised to find out her ethnicity too (I& #39;m sorry if this is offensive btw!!) I just feel like if I saw more Asian people that acted as a main character and weren& #39;t like a 5 second role as an extra in a bar that would be wonderful..
Hmm.. I feel like as the series went on Ciri felt less likable to me? Not by much but the fact that Dara felt like a sidekick, and that she didn& #39;t even say sorry to that lady whose horse she stole when they met again even though she had the chance made me kind of eh towards her
Also when The Witcher was coming out people seemed to really like Jaskier so I geared up to like him but the way he talked to Vea and Tea was awful.. the whole time I was like make it stop!!!! He was fine up until then so I& #39;m a bit sad I feel this way ://
It was funny how basically all the IMDb trivia was about how shredded Cavill was as Geralt though haha. The fact that this dude was so ripped he kept tearing his costumes is absurd
The music and set production was so good too!!!!!! Like unbelievable... It felt like a genuine world with actual terrain and places. The costumes were so detailed too!! I esp loved the women& #39;s outfits, they were really gorgeous
