Last night, my wife & I eventually saw Àbèjoyè 2 & 3. It’s intriguing & beautiful
The apparent emphasis on Baba’s growth and spiritual warfare is so exciting I was teary-eyed a couple of times.
However, I think it can be better on the family front.

We can use a lot more emotion when they’re resolving the infidelity issue.
One minute you caught your husband cheating with the same woman, AGAIN and the next, she’s in your home with a gift & y’all taking pictures for Instagram

At this time, I’m not sure we can still afford to paint that all that’s required to get past infidelity in a (christian) marriage are:
- the presence of a couple of elders,
- few glasses of water
- and few words, ONLY.

While understanding the place of forgiveness, married people also need to know there are implications (asides spiritual) to their action esp. when they hurt people that love them.

Christian women (men likewise) are flesh and blood with full range of human emotions.
They glow when loved and hurt when betrayed.
And through the Spirit of Christ that dwells within and intentional fellowship, intimacy can be restored in the home.

Number 2:
I wish there’s more about Baba & his son’s relationship.
I mean, in 4 months, the son didn’t honour his vows & family TWICE. That’s a big deal!
What about Baba/Son moments when they talk about their shortcomings & biblical ways of navigating infidelity & conflicts?
I wish there’s more about Baba & his son’s relationship.

This will be an additional set of lessons for all married men and women, Christian or not, to treat their partner better and do better generally.
