Britain holds a quarter of the world’s curlew population.

But today we’re in real danger of losing the curlew from many of our landscapes.

Reasons for the decline of curlew include:

⬇️ Predators targeting the young
⬇️ Changes in farming destroying nests
⬇️ Climate change causing changes in habitat

Rescued eggs were brought back to @WWTSlimbridge for headstarting last year. Some were released into the wild to increase the number of breeding adults - giving the species a chance to recover, we hope.
