Last week I was sad about the PiF takeover of #NUFC, this week I am angry. I totally understand fellow Toon fans wanting rid of a parasite like Ashley + share their excitement at the thought of an enormous cash injection to bring the fun + ambition back.

But I can't support it.

Simple fact is that the Saudis will take more than they give, even if it won't seem it. They will plaster their country with our players, our crest, our colours, our heritage and our city. They're going to wear a black and white mask to hide the most awful, inhumane crimes.

I am particularly sick of reading fan tweets trying to absolve us of any moral responsibility in this move, many of them saying the UK govt sell KSA arms + the Queen welcomed the Saudi Royal Family with open arms, so why should we reject their money?

Because we should be better.

Suddenly as Geordie football fans we are completely without moral agency and blindly do things because our beloved Tory government and sovereign do them too? Give me a break. You either have to own the inherent hypocrisy of our club profiting from the worst people in the world or

let the club go. You don't HAVE to support a football club, however strong the emotional attachment.

I have loved this club for 30 years. Because I love it, once the takeover goes through, I can't support it any longer.
