Yaqut al-Hamawi (1179-1229) describes Mogadishu as a well developed for the standards of his time.
Ibn Sa’id(1215-1275) states that Mogadishu was a well-known place amongst people like merchants and travellers.
Ibn Battuta(1304 – 1368) from his description Mogadishu during that period gave the impression of great wealth, it was enormous and was inhabited by Merchants.
Duarte Barbosa(1480-1521) stats that Mogadishu was a large town. Him and Afonso de Albuquerque(1453-1515) both mentioning it’s trading capabilities.
