Seen a lot of false information going round about the effect of #COVID19 on pregnant women.

Fear is already a big issue in pregnancy, so I don't know what joy people derive from creating panic đŸ€ŠđŸŸâ€â™‚ïž

Here's a few tips sha

Pregnancy can cause immunologic, and physiologic changes, so it pays to take extra precautions.

The risk of infection is still considered low.

The virus spreads from person to person. There are not enough studies to know for sure, it does not seem to cross the placenta to the baby.

Samples of amniotic fluid and breastmilk have not tested positive for the virus (in infected moms) at this time.

If you are infected & breastfeeding, wear a mask, wash hands consistently before feeding the baby.

Most hospitals are implementing either no visitors or strict visitor policies. For some, this means only the father of the baby or partner can attend the birth but must wear a mask. Many are not allowing the father to spend the night.
Some hospitals are not even allowing children to visit at all.

If mom is infected. She has to wear a mask, and it seems the CDC is recommending that the baby is separated from mom, and should be placed on infant formula.

According to the CDC, there does not appear to be an elevated risk of miscarriage or other complications such as fetal malformations for pregnant women infected with COVID-19.

People should just stop spreading false information please.
As a precaution, you must follow government guidelines on the social distance; stay at home, avoid public places and avoid those with symptoms indicative of coronavirus.
When you are in your third trimester (more than 28 weeks pregnant) you should be especially attentive to social distances and avoid interaction with others.

In addition to that, try to reduce unnecessary visits to the hospital.
Add diet with vitamin C and antioxidants to improve immunity. Consult your doctor for any symptoms and avoid self-medication of cough and fever.
Each hospital has specific rules for treating these circumstances in the best way. The first step is to call your doctor and inform them about your symptoms, travel history, or contact with someone who has a reported COVID-19 case.
