There is nothing normal about British death registrations

- include Scotland and Northern Ireland
- show with a simple updating model what the numbers probably look like to date (rahter than almost 3 weeks old)

Again, in the figures, there are many extra deaths at home and in care homes not recorded as linked to coronavirus (ONS is investigating)

In hospitals the incraese in coronavirus deaths over the past two weeks more than accounts for the increase in deaths

It is these discrepancies which suggest that looking at total death registrations is the place to start - all cause mortality.

We can look at deaths linked to the coronavirus outbreak then, but cannot definitively say people died from Covid-19
