According to latest figures,Ireland has 9th highest number of deaths per 100k population. Numbers come with caveats re reporting but still concerning particularly when you consider Ireland’s (1) low population density (2) relatively young population (3) island status.

Shocking also that nearly half of these deaths have come in our nursing homes where people went to receive care and assistance. Independent review needed into what seems to be a systematic policy failure by Government to look after our most vulnerable.
