The biggest issue for me is that the one account actually shown (of apparently 128!) feels like a weird parody, rather than a genuine attempt at believable astroturfing. And so far he hasn’t shown any evidence of the other accounts...
I get why it’s popular, though. When I hear that the government is running a clandestine network of sock puppet accounts to undermine the NHS, I am instinctively inclined to want to believe it.
That’s how all conspiracy theories work. This one lines up with our political preferences, but that doesn’t make it true. If we scoff at people for believing the 5G nonsense, we can’t then line up behind this without proof.
