@Suw You asked the other day about IT problems encountered by older ppl. I didn't respond then as you were getting bombarded by ppl who were being dicks, but I thought it an interesting Q. I don't know if my experience is relevant to your thoughts but the main frustration I've
encountered as I've got older (now in my 60s) and less mentally agile is the way the UI paradigms I'd come to rely on are forever shifting and blurring. I often find myself in the position, these days, of someone who has hired a unfamiliar car and discovered that, ...
... not only has the gear lever been hidden in the glove compartment, it is also the control you use for changing channels and volume on the stereo.
I suppose some specific examples I've noticed (trying to provide informal IT support to K - now trying to teach from home with zero IT training) is the way that Microsoft are increasingly muddying the waters between using a web client and using an installed app as a client ....
... or between whether files are saved on your PC or in cyberspace or both. When my fundamental assumptions about what I am are doing on my PC are undermined in this way I struggle to explain PC behaviour to others and, increasingly, to make full sense of my own PC's behaviour.
FWIW I wrote about my frustrations with K's Mac (as she then had) here: https://badreason99.blogspot.com/2016/06/the-bitter-taste-of-apple.html. As I get older, I'm increasingly noticing analogous problems with PCs and Microsoftware these days.
