One of my fave things when I travel in Japan is to find small roasteries and try out their coffee beans and bring some home w/me. As I assume a lot of these places can& #39;t serve customers in-store, this is likely their only source of income. Let& #39;s help them survive!

OBSCURA Coffee Roasters (TOKYO)
One of my go-tos from when I worked in Sangenjaya. They specialize in single-origin, but their blends are nice too. They also offer monthly delivery.

Hiro Coffee (OSAKA)
Also carries Rainforest Alliance coffee. Nice selection of both blends and single origin. I really like their Costa Rica Aquiares single origin roast.

Miyajima Itsuki Coffee (HIROSHIMA)
Selection is a bit smaller on their online shop, but don& #39;t let it turn you away! I like the Columbia and Rwanda roasts. This roastery is really local to the Seto Inland Sea area and the cafes have such a great vibe.

Kanazawaya Coffee (ISHIKAWA)
I loved this place-- their industrial roaster is in a huge glass room so you can watch them!
They basically just sell blends, not single origin. I liked the "Kanazawa Monogatari" the best.

Maruyama Coffee (NAGANO)
Website/online store is available in both English and Japanese.
Their single origin is seasonal, and they also focus on the farmers. Their medium roast blend is nice for everyday. I like their dark roast best.
