PSA: yes it’s Lesbian visibility week but no, despite the fact that I’m masc presenting and in a relationship with a woman, Im not a lesbian.
So please stop assuming & don’t include me in your think pieces. I can’t tell you what life as a lesbian is like, I am not one

There are honestly so many Black British lesbians who are such important voices within our community, please highlight them and platform their voices.
If you’re looking for Black British Lesbians you can reach out to the @azmaguk @TwoTwos_Podcast @DAAMpodcast @bbz_london But ASK first which members identify as lesbians and don’t assume based on gender expression
Also if you’re being commissioned to write a piece on lesbian visibility week and you are not a lesbian, how about you ask an actual Lesbian to write the piece. Writing the piece and collecting coins on behalf of lesbian women is not allyship xox
Lastly, Stop assuming people’s pronouns, sexual orientation or gender based upon gender expression. Do your research or just ask. It’s not actually hard
I’ve been on panels, shoots and had pieces written that have wrongly labelled me as either non binary, gender neutral or a lesbian. Shock horror, who knew masc women could be bi too
