This is obvious but Hanamiya is not a good person and never will be. I don't think he can ever be ~redeemed~ and I definitely don't think he'd ever want redemption. Hanamiya is cruel and selfish and sadistic and he enjoys hurting people and that won't change. +

That said, I do think Hanamiya mellows out to some degree as he gets older. Like he still 100% enjoys making people suffer, but his cruelty is more often the lines of like uncovering a company's dirty secrets just bc he didn't one of the higher ups

THAT BEING SAID, there are some people he cares a lot about. There's obviously his mom who he loves dearly to the point of being a mama's boy. Hanamiya's protective of his mom, and she's a positive presence in his life. I hc her as being like in real estate bc I imagine her +

as being like a genuinely kind and social person and also it gives Hanamiya some knowledge about abandoned houses and locations that might be helpful when it comes to taking care of some nuisances. :3c +

Hanamiya also cares about his teammates although he'd never tell them that, because he has the emotional intelligence of an infant. Some of the ways he expresses how he cares about his teammates is by snapping at them when they aren't taking care of themselves and by chewing +

them out when their grades slip. He'll also use his position on the disciplinary committee to try and get his teammates off the hook for minor offenses. Also catch him giving his team genuinely useful and helpful feedback and pointers when it comes to basketball. +

Hanamiya is actually a pretty good coach, relatively speaking. He's harsh and critical, but his advice is good and the players that stay on the team consistently improve under him. +

Okay, so I think that Hanamiya has a shifting scale of morality and that's part of what makes him so dangerous? Like, he has morals, but some of his morals are terrible, actually. And sometimes he discards those morals. +

Hanamiya is bi with a female preference. A lot of people have talked about how his favorite type of girl is a "stupid girl" but like all of those discussions fail to consider that we're talking about Hanamiya here. Hanamiya considers himself the smartest person in the room +

and it's been established he's arrogant as hell so he considers the people around him stupid. If you have different morals? You're stupid. If you defy him? You're stupid. If you challenge him or refuse to back down from him, Hanamiya thinks you're stupid. +

So like, while I'm sure he has had a few flings with girls that weren't very bright, I think in a long term relationship he would want someone who is "stupid" enough to challenge him. ok i'm gonna continue to this thread later ok ok
