In the last few days we have the government's communications machine stepping up angry rebuttals, not entirely convincingly, at the same time as we see some Ministers at least trying to strike a more reasonable tone that mistakes have of course been made

Two very different forms of politics playing out from the UK government. I prefer the more honest approach and think that leads to better results but I'm sure those behind the more aggressive approach will argue its essential for government to keep control.
