why betty and archie are literally soulmates: a thread <3

1.) they grew up together/have known each other almost their whole lives.

their history with each other is much deeper and significant than the history of any other couple. they know everything there is to know about each other and have watched each other grow as people.

2.) they have soft spots for each other and always protect each other.

they do whatever it takes to keep each other safe. for example, betty spends her whole summer trying to prove archies innocence, and archie keeps jughead from dragging betty into a drug deal.

3. they have undeniable feelings for/attraction towards each other.

they always turn to each other after hard situations. their feelings always seem to resurface when they are alone. (ex: car kiss, fake dating, 4x17)

4.) whenever things get rough, they automatically turn to each other.

this one is very important. after fred was shot in season two, archie automatically called betty. not his girlfriend. betty. and during the blackhood situation, betty confided in archie and asked for his help.

5.) they are destined to be together.

this one needs no explanation. “it was always supposed to be betty and archie. it was like it was their destiny.”

6.) they are perfect for each other.

they share a deep emotional connection by being best friends their whole lives and would undoubtedly make an amazing couple. they are both have pure souls and bring out the best in each other.

7.) they love each other.

even if it’s only platonic at the moments, betty and archie do and will always love each other. they have developed an unbreakable bond over the years and are very gentle towards each other. they have no anger or negative tension between them.

8.) even when they drift apart, they always find their way back to each other.

after they both fell in love with other people, we saw betty and archies friendship start to fade. however, they were able to find each other again and develop something even stronger.

9.) they trust each other.

trust is one of the most important factors of a healthy relationship. betty and archie being friends for so long has not only developed eternal love for each other, but also eternal trust.

10.) it was stated that they are endgame from the beginning.

kevin said in the pilot that betty and archie are not dating, but they are endgame. this along with several different quotes, such as “a little part of me always thought” and “ask me when we’re 18”, is foreshadowing :)

11.) they acted on their feelings while still dating other people.

while cheating is NEVER OKAY (!!) the fact that betty and archie were willing to give up everything they had with jughead and veronica for each other proves how strong their feelings are becoming.

12.) their relationship is based off of love and affection.

their feelings are not all about physical attraction. they are emotionally connected and have a long history together that has brought them closer over the years. their strong friendship blossomed into something more.
