I had a big feature on the citizen science boom last month in @CWF_FCF magazine. All done pre-COVID. Last third is about how this week, marking Earth Day and all, was going to be a huge for citizen science. Good news! It turns out there& #39;s still some stuff happening... 1/4
For example, just the other day I got an update from the indefatigable @davehireland asking me to spread the word that the City Nature Challenge is still on, albeit with a COVID-adapted format: https://citynaturechallenge.org/ ...">https://citynaturechallenge.org/">... 2/4
Meanwhile, the global app-reporting Earth Challenge 2020, led by @EarthDayNetwork, is happening. On COVID, they note: "the app enables individuals to participate in authentic environmental research from the safety of their homes." https://earthchallenge2020.earthday.org/ ">https://earthchallenge2020.earthday.org/">... 3/4
That& #39;s two of the big ones. Basically, if you can do it from home, do it remotely, without crowding into others, it& #39;s worth it. And speaking of worth it, here& #39;s the story that started this thread. Subscribe to CWF for access to their art and layout. https://brian.eco/everybody-counts/">https://brian.eco/everybody... 4/4
