One, no matter how good or bad the group is, as long as the fandom loves and supports them; streams, publicity and SALES, then the group will always be successful. I just want to emphasize the sales because that’s what they do for a living.
It’s not that ARMYs are obsessed with sales and numbers, but it’s the best way to support your idols. They don’t do it for free. It’s how they earn. If there are no sales, the group would fail or the company would drop them. They are still employees and capitalism is capitalism.
Second, for the group and the company to be able to give back to the fans, they make quality content. It’s also a way to keep the market invested. I mean, of course, if the contents are crap, then why bother? I know that these already exist in kpop industry,
Of course the music, behind the scenes, variety shows, films, merchs. But Bighit serves the market with both quality and quantity. That it’s so good and too many but you’d still crave for more. I’m not sure if this is subjective or this is something the company is really good at.
Lastly is the group’s effort. BTS’ commitment both to the company and their fans. Both the company and the fans invests a lot for them so they also do their best that they won’t fall short in terms of skills, image and talent. They do their best to lift the company’s reputation.
They also make it to a point that their fans will always feel connected to them. They somehow communicates with us, post photos, do live shows, etc. I don’t know with other groups but with BTS, they do make their fans feel like they are the best fans in the world.
I’m making this thread because I see people telling that there are a lot of group better than BTS. Sure, most likely, but do they have this dedicated fandom? Does their company give them enough support to shine and achieve goals? Success is a collective effort.
In conclusion, there were and will be other groups that would be better than BTS. They weren’t that big in the beginning and the probably won’t be big until the end, but right now, this is BTS’ time. They are the best and successful boy band today.
