Now that the Sing Street cast album is available, I have some thoughts I’ve been wanting to share since I first heard it.

So without further ado, here is the thread no one asked for but everyone will read because it is very important.

Okay:

1/10 Go Now is the most gorgeous song I have ever heard. Gus Halper puts 100% of his heart and soul into this song and you will cry like a baby watching it live. It gives me chills every time.

Hand him a Tony already.

2/10 Jakeim Hart’s guitar solo in Drive It Like You Stole It is even better live. The energy in the audience after he’s done playing it is fire. Straight. Up. Fire. That man’s stage presence when he’s in his element is somethin’ else. You can’t take your eyes off him.

3/10 Girls gets me fucking turnt. There is no other way to explain it. Skyler Volpe is a force and this song makes me feel like a badass. I will singlehandedly destroy the patriarchy while listening to this song.

4/10 If you don’t clap along to Riddle of the Model, I cannot trust you.

5/10 I cry every time I listen to Up (Down Version). Perhaps I’m a big baby. Or perhaps it’s because you can literally hear the heartbreak in Brenock O’Connor’s voice when he sings it. You decide.

6/10 Dream for You hits different when you truly love someone. You will just...get it.

7/10 Brown Shoes, like Girls, makes me feel like a badass. I want to fuck shit up.

The audience goes wild during Johnny Newcomb’s verse, rightfully so.

It is the perfect anthem for teen rebellion.

8/10 Just Can’t Get Enough is a bop. Depeche Mode who? Jk they’re legit but so is this cast. How many instruments do they all play? I DON’T KNOW BECAUSE I LOST TRACK.

Also when the cast is all vibin’ and dancing during this number...

I feel Happy.

9/10 A Beautiful Sea is happy-sad. Subjectively it’s a very happy song but I feel a twinge of nostalgia and longing for something or someone when I hear it and that’s why I love it so much. I think this is when the whole cast (as the band) truly give us their best.

10/10 I conclude this thread by saying: Go listen to this cast album and please buy tickets to the show when Broadway is back and Sing Street is rocking the Lyceum. Thank you
