My family foreclosed on our home after the '08 crash. My dad was forced to join the Navy to support my brother and I.

While he was gone, we were left with a physically and emotionally abusive stepmother. My father didn't want to leave us, but he had no choice.

My fiance who I've been with for 5.5 years was forced to join the Navy to be able to afford higher education. He was separated from me, his family, and his friends for four years. He's still not sure if it was worth it.
