Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the commonwealth will have no access to the data from the new tracing app.

He says the data will be stored in an encrypted file that can only be accessed by state and territory authorities.
We're still waiting for the full detail about this app but that is an interesting statement.

The Singapore app stores this data on the phones. Morrison seems to be suggesting the data goes to a national, encrypted store.
