Why sweetener is Ariana’s best album to date( a thread)
First of all, it’s a concept album. Sweetener is about Ariana finding herself after the terrible and tragic Manchester incident in 2017 where Ariana stayed away from the spotlight for a year and came back in April 2018 to start her next musical era.
We start with no tears left to cry where Ariana is ready to move on from the past and move to the next chapter in her life. In the music video you notice how the visuals are pretty much visually pleasing and upside down could symbolize how Ariana’s life has been upside down
Sweetener is meaningful and shows how versatile Ariana Grande truly is. She worked with Pharrell for this album and it was an experimental sound which is another reason why this is arianas best album. It had elements of early 2000’s pop and r&b which made it even more interesting
the track list order alone is meaningful. sweetener the title track which is about Turning something bad into something good by fixing it. Now we come to the positive part of the album. Ariana is finding herself again and is realizing she is successful and still looking for love
Breathin talks about her anxiety and how she’s dealing with it which makes it such an amazing song. Self care. Borderline is a good song. Now we transition to the part of Ariana moving on from a loved one saying she’s better off without him and then saying goodnight and go
Ariana starts to boast about the current love of her life at that time and then closing the album with a farewell and message to the Manchester victims telling them that basically they are in this together and that they should unfollow fear and work their way to the top.
The most important track on this album excluding the singles is get well soon which is exactly 5:22 minutes long which symbolizes May 22nd, the day of the Manchester incident and the 22 could also suggest the 22 victims affected by the attack. This is why Sweetener is her best.
Sweetener is her most personal and most cohesive work to date. Sweetener was her most artistic era and had the best singles and visuals to date
