Last year I was sitting across the table from my Trump loving brother in law at the Trolley Stop Market (RIP)
We never discuss politics but both he and my sister (also pro trump) know where I stand and there is a mutual unspoken understanding to never mention it.

Anyway we were sitting there waiting for our food and a Paul McCartney song came on. After about 10 seconds, bro in law says with vile disgust in his tone “I fucking hate the Beatles. They suck”
2
So me being who I am I say, “first that’s not the Beatles. That’s Paul McCartney. And the fact that you don’t know the difference shows that you’re not knowledgeable enough about their catalog to pass judgement on if they suck or not.”
3
I then said, “that’s such a typical way that Americans form opinions. Not on actually listening to and learning about, but a basic and simple opinion based on something as superficial as because the cool kids you hung out with in high school liked Billy Squier and Journey.”
4
He just set there with his mouth open. I was waiting for some retort, but my mom spoke up and changed the subject.
It has never been mentioned since.
5
I think about that a lot and I have starting asking Trump supporters if they like the Beatles. And not surprisingly, not a single Trump supporter I have asked likes the Beatles.
6
But the weird thing I have seen is that most all of them have the same vile disgust in their tone, and add that “the Beatles suck” instead of just answering my question.

There really isn’t a point to this thread. But try to think of any Trump supporters you may know. And whether or not you think they like the Beatles or not.
