other stuff I find very illustrative/handy in Spanish. thread. & #39;solidarity& #39; is a verb (solidarizar). Marriage is also handcuffs (esposar). conseguir is just somehow a better way of expressing & #39;to get& #39; even though that is English& #39;s most idiomatic idiomatic verb.
in a similar manner, & #39;lograr& #39; is frankly just a better way of expressing & #39;to succeed, achieve& #39; at something. To miss someone or something is estrangement (extrañar) (cf. the Anglo (Aus/British - US too? idk) "don& #39;t be a stranger").
APAPACHAR. to physically comfort, to cuddlily care for, to love up. cf. consentirse, to love up, to pleasure, but with the edge of & #39;to spoil& #39;, usually.
dar a luz, to give birth (lit. give to light). probably much less delightful to those who actually dar a luz than it is to me.
this should not be read as a romanticizing thread of a romance language haha. ALL these expressions have super real dark sides. part of their expressive power
(and I think that& #39;s beautiful hahahahaha)
acompañar. to go down the shops with you as much as to walk with or alongside en lucha.
conquistar. terrible colonial metaphor within or despite which you might have seduced or been seduced
