There are those who say -even among our own people- that the time has come to forget. /1

But to see where we go, we must know from whence we have come. /2

And we must know that in this generation, too, is an Amalek that would incinerate us, that would murder us, because we are Jews. /3

In Europe today are those, not small in number, who would again burn our synagogues. /4

We remember so that Israel shall always stand strong. /5

We remember so that the eternal flame of anti-semitism never again smolders into a blaze. /6

We, the chosen people, also remember for all mankind so that genocide will not stain the earth like the blood of Abel. /7

We remember for for all mankind universal lessons of the Shoah - that man is capable of unfathomable evil and depravity, but also of holiness and righteousness. /8

We remember for ourselves, and all mankind, our murdered millions, and the loss -that will echo through eternity- of Jewish generations unborn. /9
