#YomHaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day): A Thread

It's surreal to be commemorating alone when usually we would be partaking in community events. And yet, here in our homes, we reflect and remember and pay tribute to those who survived, and those who did not.

Importantly, we try to learn from the past, to confront prejudice in the world and in ourselves, to strive for tolerance and decency, and to uphold the fundamental right of dignified existence for all.

This year, I was honoured to have contributed an "exhibit" to the newly founded Museum of Inherited Memory - an online space that brings together survivors and, particularly, those from the third generation who seek to engage with the Holocaust through art.

Logistical constraints mean that right now it's still small and only on Instagram but it will grow in the coming days and weeks, and expand to Facebook and its own website. It's a beautiful project with some big names and great exhibits already there.

I send my love to those survivors who remain with us, remember those who are not, and hope that one day Never Again might actually mean Never Again for anyone, regardless of race, religion, colour, sexual orientation or identity.
