This tweet is a sub-tweet of academic administrators.

Both for students AND for instructors/faculty, online instructions seems EXTRAORDINARILY INVASIVE.

I am very, very, very, very privileged that what you see as background in my Zoom is

... the home office that my Mom had the good foresight to get me built for when I decided to become a professor.

Other folks do not have this degree of privilege.

Online teaching feels to me super intrusive right now.

We are in a crisis situation and we are making do.

If we were teaching online from the comfort of an enclosed space (aka office), FINE. If we were broadcasting TO classrooms, FINE.

But some folks are teaching and/or learning within spaces that are extraordinarily intimate. THEIR HOMES.

... discomfort, but I just want to be on the record that a lot of people are doing the best during this emergency remote instructing and that the boundary between what is public (education) and what is private (our homes) is blurring and I am not comfortable with it.
