Lot of ppl following me lately describe themselves as gendercrit or whatever and I just want u to know that while I have issues with a lot of liberal gender politics I also think most ppl on here who make a point of saying how 'gendercritical' they are r homophobic etc

In case ur wondering y I don't just say 'transphobic' it's because 1) the word 'transphobia' makes ppl shut down (rightly or otherwise, lol) and 2) a lot of the time there's better/more precise language for labelling certain reactionary tendencies. But yh.

Like fundamentally if you break it down, a bunch of ppl just seem to have a really big issue with gender non-conformity but want to somehow make it about 'safeguarding' or whatever when they're just recycling gay paedo scare rhetoric

And their (often, if not usually?) straight acceptance of gay + bi ppl is conditional on them agreeing with everything that certain self-appointed reps of The Gays have to say. Like. Why r u so invested in this?

This seems to be a mostly British phenomenon btw. Like American and Canadian feminists seem capable of making interesting left wing critiques of gender ID politics w.o treating Jonathan Ross as a Voice of Reason or scaremongering about drag queen story time or whatever

If you're only critical of gender where trans ppl are concerned then u probably just hate trans ppl tbh
