As a community, giving our kids an on-going experience of school is a top priority. More important than footy. Or a dine-in experience at a restaurant or café. If there is to be a relaxation of restrictions, this is the right place to start.
There has been brilliant innovation with the delivery of digital, remote learning – and this can be enhanced this term with weekly classroom engagement with teachers...../3
We will still be asking teachers to prepare one unit of work for completion at home or school. But the school experience can provide a check-in on engagement, well-being and progress: central to learning.
The health advice remains clear. Schools are safe to open for staff and students. We will follow health guidelines on enhanced cleaning and supplies like sanitiser in classrooms...../5
With only 25% of students rostered to attend schools, there will be space to spread out classes. ..../6
There will also be a chance for Year 12 students to make progress on major works...../7
We will be asking schools to restrict the presence of parents and other adults on school grounds. Schools will be for students and staff only....../8
