Part 2, Thread: Ambitions the Dervish State had for the Territories of the Somali race:

This is an estimation map I made for the regions the Dervishes wanted to control. Labeled cities/places are the ones mentioned in the Sayyid's poems.
*Taleex was the capital of the Dervish State.

The Dervishes sought to free all Somali lands and unite them under one flag. Sayyidka said regarding Somaliweyn, "Godobtaydu waa wada jirtaa goonyohoo idile,
Gashi niman ku leeyahayba waa dabagelaayaaye,
Waxaan goosan karo anigu waa gurubsanaayaaye”"

Translation: "“My vendetta will hit in all directions,
I will go after those who have failed to compensate me for the wrongs they committed,
I will collect anything I can grab.”

He also saw this as an Islamic duty as he said, "“Oo aanan u aar gudin raggii naga afdhowraayey, Allaylehe islaan baan ihiyo, umalku waa beene.”

Translation: “and if I don’t avenge the death of my (dervish) comrades, I am a fake Muslim”

I will list a few of his poems that outline the territories he wanted to capture in his lifetime.

“Guban iyo Burciyo Looyo waa gaalib weerara,
Gooddiga Arooraa fardaa lagu garmaamayne,
Gaaroodi iyo waa la tegi buurihii Golise”

Tr: “My warhorses will gallop in the coastal strip Burco and Looyo,
They will attack as well in the direction of Aroori,
and will reach Garoodi and the Golis range.”

“Jidka adari loo maro hadaanan laga ugaaroobin, meesha iyo imey hadaanan weerar ku eekaynin”

Tr: “if I Don’t make them flee from the pathway to adari, from there to imey if I don’t target attacks.”

“Ilkadheere iyo Luuq haddaanan lagu awaareynin,
Ajiga Waama joogow haddaan oloku soo gaarin,
Adduunyada haddii anan ka shabin tan iyo Aw-Dheegle”

Tr: “if I don’t turn ilkadheere and luuq empty (of infidels), if the campaign doesn’t reach the person in waamo , If I don’t shock the world by the what I do from here to aw-dheegle”

“Bullaxaar agteediyo hadaan Awdal yaacin,
Ooryaha Amxaaradu haddaanay Cadan ka awlaynin”

Tr: “if they don’t flee from bulaxaar and awdal, if the women of the amxaara don’t cry from adan”

“Haddaan waayay calan lay nashiro tan iyo Nayroobi”

Tr: "if I have lost a flag to use from here to Nairobi."
