STOP OBJECTIFYING SCARLETT JOHANSSON AND OTHER WOMEN IN HOLLYWOOD. scarlett worked her whole life to become an actress, she’s talented and sweet, and yet she can’t be recognized for her talent because people are so disgusting and sexualize her every chance they get.
imagine being passionate about something and dedicating a lot of your life to it from the age of 8, and making it big, only to realize that the men in the industry are using you just for your looks and body.
yes, she has said some problematic things, but that doesn’t give anyone an excuse to justify sexualizing or objectifying her, and it DEFINITELY doesn’t mean she isn’t talented and doesn’t deserve how far she’s gotten. also keep in mind that she had a young daughter, and when she-
is older she will likely have to see how her mom was treated and it may even happen to her. some of the stuff i’ve seen could be traumatizing and no one deserves to see that about anyone, let alone their mom.
before you say something stupid, think about how your actions could hurt someone, how much effort THEY’VE put to get to where they are, and how anyone should be treated. rant over
also i just wanna explain the saddest part. when she was starting off, she was sexualized even when she was a teenager by men in the industry. she didn’t even think much of it because it was so normalized, and when she tried to break free from that persona it was so difficult.
