It blows my mind. We are at 75 days+ of dealing with COVID here in Vietnam, with 5 days of no new cases, and are sort of starting to hear about the possibilities of reopening things in the nearer future.Meanwhile other countries are like "ok were below 1k deaths a day time to open"
It’s been a hot minute since I had a tweet get more than ten likes. I’m so damn proud to live and work in this beautiful country that’s worked so hard to put the well-being of society as its priority in responding to covid.
Well this is definitely more than 10 likes, so umm hi everyone? COVID already was making life feel a bit unreal but ummm having a tweet get this much visibility makes it feel even more unreal
Since this is getting attention, Vietnam has followed the best plans possible. Requiring masks, shutting down schools right away, identifying clusters by testing a ton of people, quarantining all incoming flights, free testing and free quarantine. Mass information campaigns
information available every where, apps to report your health and to show you locations of any break outs, morning and night updates about case numbers, quarantine outbreak areas and provide food, making sure food and supplies are available and sustained
6 days of no new cases today! Proud of this country, and glad I have the honor of being here.I'm really just blown away at this response, im just hanging out here getting ready, tonight I teach. So- a side message, support and appreciate the teachers doing so much during this time
Theoretically my messages are open if people wanted to hear more but like i have two kids so cant guarantee i can get back right away.
I'm gonna step away from twitter for a few hours, but just wanted to share illustration of how much info is out there. This was just in my elevator to my complex's lobby,
And this is in the lobby. So much information everywhere. Not pictured is the hand sanitizer available at every level by the elevators (my complex is 19 floors)
