Caethir didn& #39;t flinch, and she gently pressed something on his cheek.
"This feels odd. What is it?" he asked.
"A reminder. It& #39;s a silly little thing, but I mean it well."

Taking him back outside, she asked him to look at his reflection.
"What do you see, love?" she asked.
"A picture of a sword," he replied.
"And who do you see?"
He paused, knowing he didn& #39;t need to answer. She knew what he thought of himself.
