"Why are we in this Bree-land village, Glin?" Caethir asked.

N'wyn chuckled.

"You've never seen my, erm, home, here have you?" she asked
"This isn't your home, though?" he questioned.
"I know, call it, my hideaway then. Come on."

"It's beautiful here sometimes, but it's not Imladris or Lothlorien" she sighed.

Caethir smiled.

"Anyone ever tell you, you sound like an Elf?"

N'wyn laughed and leaned into him.

"I lost count years ago. But this isn't about me. Let's go in".

"You trust me right?" she asked as she lifted her hand towards his face.

Caethir didn't flinch, and she gently pressed something on his cheek.

"This feels odd. What is it?" he asked.

"A reminder. It's a silly little thing, but I mean it well."

Taking him back outside, she asked him to look at his reflection.

"What do you see, love?" she asked.
"A picture of a sword," he replied.
"And who do you see?"

He paused, knowing he didn't need to answer. She knew what he thought of himself.

"You my warrior, Caethir. It's not about defending me, or being strong for me. But it's being strong about me. We can't venture together yet, but I want you to remember what you mean to me."

He sighed, a little happily.

"But what about you?" he asked.

"Oh don't worry, I thought about that too. Let's just say, your bow may bend, but it doesn't break. Your arrows may miss but can be restrung. Nothing is beyond repair. You're always in my heart, my dear Elf."

"It's nice just to be two people on our own, even if it's only a night," Caethir said, sadly.

N'wyn glanced into his eyes and understood.

"Well, me, you and the dozing piggy anyway" she giggled.

Tomorrow battle would await. Tonight they were just "them".
