Thread for those who are curious:

I’ve been hesitant to share publicly for obvious reasons, but I think enough stories match my own at this point that it likely doesn’t matter:

My suspected-COVID journey went like this: 1/8
In December, I got sick as *hell*

I assumed it was the flu, but it seemed like it was never-ending. Towards the end of week 1, I ended up in the ER because I couldn’t breathe, and my prescribed inhaler wasn’t helping. 2/8
Tested negative for the flu and was diagnosed with a viral upper respiratory infection.

Went home after several hours, still felt like shit but I could breathe, until about three days later, when I ended up back in the ER.

Tested negative for the flu again. 3/8
Fast forward to the end of week 2. My heart rate was still abnormally elevated (often as high as 120 BPM while resting, almost never below 90)

Around this time, Mrs. Angry got sick with similar symptoms, though nowhere near as severe as mine. 4/8
She recovered quickly, but it took a solid 3 weeks before I felt even semi-normal again.

Around the same time, mini-Angry was hospitalized with pneumonia.

Anecdotally, the ER Dr. told us she was seeing an unusual amount of viral pneumonia this season. 5/8
Luckily the pneumonia was “mild” and was only in one lung and one lobe.

Took about a week for mini-Angry to recover.

Worth pointing out that they both tested negative for the flu, also. 6/8
Obviously, I have no idea whether or not we all had coronavirus, but I suspect we did.

I took one rapid-antibody test and tested positive for the antibodies, but the tests aren’t perfect.

After I get the results of my second (FDA-approved) test I’ll be more confident. 7/8
If it was COVID, we were fortunate and had mild cases, even though “mild” was worse than the worst flu I’ve ever had.

This is why I’ve been urging people to not play with this from the beginning — it’s *not* fun.

And if that wasn’t what I had, I damn sure don’t want it. (End)
