"Once a trendy convenience, grocery delivery is fast becoming an essential staple..."

It was never a trendy convenience. It was an essential service for disabled people. Who now are lucky if they can get it at all.
I'm super excited today because I finally got a delivery slot (for two weeks from now) from my regular service. Before all this I got delivery once a week from them and placed my order the night before.
Discovering delivery groceries was so freeing for me. I could buy heavy food, like milk, again.

Currently I'm back to doing some shopping for myself for the first time in over a year, and it leaves me exhausted and trembling each time. And no milk.
When I really need heavy things, my parents have been doing some shopping for me, but obviously I am not keen to send seniors on extra trips to the store right now.
I really, really miss being able to just order what I need. Now it takes charity or extraordinary luck to get it.

If you are an able-bodied person who is not under an isolation order, please GO TO THE STORE for your groceries. I wish I could.
