Found a cheap Intel Xeon Phi 7120P card on eBay and just had to buy it. Yeah, I know, more toys etc. but Xeon Phis is are so cool that I always wanted one and after @gamozolabs streamed his recent osdev adventures, I got nerdsniped.
It& #39;s not the same architecture he uses, but the generation before that: Knights Corner. It is a PCIe card with the co-processor that is essentially just a many-core-x86-CPU, memory controller and only the absolutely needed support peripherals.
It does run Linux though even when using Intel& #39;s software stack. The documentation okay, not great, but with enough staring at Linux sources and the documentation I have, I& #39;ll be able to get some own shit running on there. That& #39;s going to be so much fun!
ALSO YES I KNOW THAT I HAVE TOO MANY PROJECTS, BUT THIS SHINY NEW OBJECT IS WAY MORE FUN THAN ALL THE OTHER ONES DYING ON THE PROJECT GRAVEYARD RIGHT NOW!!!
