Watched #GuessWhosComingtoDinner as part of my #SidneyPoitier marathon today. It's about a white woman and black man who meet *in Hawaii*, and she believes their biracial children will all become president some day. This was six years after Barack Obama was born... in Hawaii.
In one scene, Spencer Tracy says maybe America will learn to accept what his daughter and her husband are doing in 50 or 100 years. Fifty years after the movie came out, Obama finished his second term of office (and Trump took his place, which complicates things, but still).
Spencer Tracy also says that this change will *not* happen during his lifetime. Tracy actually died a few months before the movie came out, which must have given that line an extra bit of emotional something-or-other when audiences first heard it.
