I quite like the government responding to claims in the press directly. And a blog is a good way to do it. But do they have to be such dicks about it?
"It is ridiculous to suggest that coronavirus only reached the UK because the Health Secretary and not the PM chaired a COBR meeting" > the exact claim that you've written doesn't seem to make such a suggestion does it? I've read it five times now. Am I going completely mad?
Some suggestions that Cummings himself wrote it and I really don't know if that would be allowed. I thought the civil service was independent, and I'd have guessed that the press office of a department was civil service. But as I say often, I don't know how UK government works.
More positively, I'm glad that I have a Mayor I elected and a leader of a council I elected who mostly put their name on stuff. And a local newspaper that mostly puts people's names on stuff when they mess up.
