It's interesting how (a small number of) mostly White protesters are screaming for the right to go back to hair salons, gyms, to get gardening supplies, to eat at restos.
It's all about keeping up appearances and actively being SERVED.

2) It has barely been 5 weeks in a pandemic that has (as far as we know) killed over 60K people in this country, and modern facade of a White middle class person is beginning to chip away.
3) The roots have grown in, the middle has started to sag, and people are sick of their own bad cooking, despite there being a load of resources for safe exercising, good cooking (or good frozen meals) and how to color one's own hair- OR NOT.
4) It's not enough to be self sufficient in terms of grooming and care; one must be seen PAYING for it, and SEE a low wage earner serving in some way. The people who clean, cook and tend to hair and nails tend to be lower income brown and black workers.

6) Also, to be fair: Many of those mostly White protesters may themselves be involved in franchises business like gyms and hair salons. Those are big investments! And this is not to put down PTs, hairdressers and such: those are skilled and honorable trades.
7) But it's telling that what Georgia and what these protesters want is the ability to consume and to be SEEN consuming- not just products of labor but the time, and possibly life, but of the people working to maintain the facade of a White middle class person.
