A thread on why you should never give your money to The American Red Cross organization:

So let's just take a walk down memory lane....

Let's start with The Great Flood of 1927. It was the most destructive river flood in the history of the United States, with 27,000 square miles inundated up to a depth of 30 feet.

But why does all of that matter? Well, because Red Cross came in to "help". Because of the location of the flood & how/where it traveled to it disproportionately affected Black people. Red Cross took Jim Crow Laws & multiplied them.

According to Lake Forest College, Black people "endured systematic abuse by the Red Cross."... Victims of the flood had been displaced & were sent to refugee camps. But Black people had to go to the "OTHER" section. They had to live in filth until they were allowed to leave.

After Pearl Harbor, Red Cross is in need of blood donations. They were calling people left & right to encourage donations. Sylvia Tucker wanted to donate her blood to the Red Cross because she felt it was her "duty" as an American. Her blood was fine, her complexion wasn't.

Red Cross *REFUSED* to test blood during the AIDS crisis. People demanded testing & Red Cross said: "The available medical & scientific evidence that AIDS can be spread by blood components remains incomplete." Especially since Red Cross was a source for blood transfusions.

This was in response to the CDC announcing their evidence that "the disease posed a serious threat to the blood supply."... Red Cross didn't want to do testing because they felt it would be too expensive. Instead, they banned LGBTQ people from donating.

Red Cross raised $500 million dollars in Haiti relief. So where did all of that money go??? Red Cross promised to build hundreds of new homes, a water & sanitation system, & a health clinic.

None of that happened.

Red Cross spent 25% of donations ($125 million) on internal expenses, then lied about it to the public & congressional investigators. Nobody can really account for where all of the money went.
