We have some extremely unwell patients who often can’t have their loved ones with them.

Please know that we have grown to love them too. They are important to us, and when they have a bad day it upsets us. When they have a good day it delights us.

We hold their hand, we stroke their hair. Your loved ones are never alone, and our nurses, doctors, cleaners, physios and others do an absolutely amazing job in some difficult circumstances. We know we risk our own health doing it, but it’s a privilege to be able to help.

I am proud of our response the crisis, from our nurses, doctors, physios, cleaners, and really importantly our managers, who have been instrumental in our ability to increase our capacity and change the way we work.
