As people discuss why it's inappropriate to put your name all over someone else's work, a reminder that you shouldn't use copyrighted images to promote your books.

Unless it's licensed for you to use, you're stealing someone's work & "credit to owner" downthread means nothing.
Both photography & illustrations are people's hard work, just like books. If the idea of someone writing all over your book upsets you, imagine how artists feel.

Be respectful of your fellow creatives and use images that are licensed for your use.
Also, if you agree that authors should be asked before someone else signs their books, it should be clear why artists should be asked before other creatives use their work.

I hate to be cliche, but "treat people the way you want to be treated". Respect work that isn't yours.
Finally, this is not a subtweet. I have no idea where y'all get your artwork from & Idc enough to find out.

I just know I'd be furious if I found out people were using my art without permission so I hate seeing people adamantly defending authors while ignoring artists.
