The PRIVILEGE I mention is those with the ability to stay isolated in safety. Those already hospitalized or homeless are less privileged because they are unable to protect themselves in this way.
I acknowledge that many have lost income and are worried about paying bills/keeping the roof over their heads. That is valid and scary. Yes, these people are less privileged than those employed or with safety nets.
I hope the government can offer more support to those people and businesses. That being said, the quickest way to get our economy back to thriving is by beating back and surviving at least two bouts of a large numbers of cases.
Boredom is understandable for those folks stuck at home. I did not say it is the reason for protests. Anger and fear are the reasons for the protests. Infecting more people through close contact will NOT help the economy open and recover sooner.
For the record, my own biases are as follows: I& #39;m low-income and employed in an "essential" job. I am privileged to have income but also have experienced food insecurity. I do not identify with any political party. [end thread]
